Breaking Bad’s last season is set to premiere. The Killing’s next season is up in the air. Mad Men is deep into itself as a series. Hell on Wheels and The Walking Dead still have a lot to give to their cult followings. And AMC is at it again with new original series and crime drama Low Winter Sun.
Low Winter Sun premieres Sunday, August 11th after the Breaking Bad season premiere. So far it looks like this this conflicted-man drama pair will own Sundays for the near future. If all goes according to plan, BB’s following will piggy back onto LWS and ensure it’s longevity. LWS is based on a British mini-series and was filmed in Detroit.

A Look at the New Series: Low Winter Sun
About the Show
The AMC Original Series Low Winter Sun is a contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption in a world where the line between cops and criminals is blurred. Low Winter Sun begins with the murder of a cop by a fellow Detroit detective. Seemingly the perfect crime, in reality the murder activates forces that will forever alter the detective’s life, and pull him into the heart of the Detroit underworld. Based on the award-winning 2006 British miniseries of the same name, Low Winter Sun stars Mark Strong (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, Zero Dark Thirty) and co-stars Lennie James (The Walking Dead, Jericho, Snatch). Chris Mundy (Criminal Minds, Cold Case) serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner. Season one consists of ten, one-hour episodes. (AMC)
